New Review on Michael Vance’s Novel

A new review of Michael Vance’s novel, Snake: Nest of Vipers! Michael says, “It is the only review that gave me less than 5 stars, but still a nice overview:” “Based on the ideas of Richard Hughes, Snake: Nest of Vipers is a good pulp style story. Jumping between World War II Germany and 1950’s New York, it tells the tragic origin of the Snake, an unusual masked vigilante, and how she builds a team to help her fight crime. It’s full of many interesting characters and many very bad bad guys. The writing by Vance is mostly good, though at times I felt he was trying to make things overly mysterious when he didn’t really need to, thus only three stars instead of four. If he writes more stories with Snake I would read them.”

We think “Overly mysterious” just makes it all the more intriguing a review. JKP

JKP to publish sequel for Michael Vance

Brother and sister, Caleb and Veyda McGreggor, who joined their father and an alien from Alpha Centauri to capture an intergalactic, power mad robber in author Michael Vance’s The Thief of Two Worlds, have geared up for a second adventure.

James Kay Publishing is pleased to announce they have signed a contract with Michael Vance for his second book in the McGreggor series to be titled, All in Color for a Time. JKP will be releasing All in Color for a Time in both print and electronic formats.

Charles T. Smith has been chosen as the cover artist. He is best known for his work for Charlton Comics and as one of the original artists on Michael Vance’s comic strip, Holiday Out, that was syndicated in the 1980s.

Action-packed middle grade Christian adventure novel The Thief of Two Worlds has been delighting readers, young and old, for the past year. All in Color for a Time promises to do the same as this innovative and exciting journey takes off in a fantastic new direction.

In All in Color, Caleb travels back into time in search of an incredible treasure made of paper and four colors of ink to save his family from bankruptcy.

For Vance’s first children’s novel, educator Nancy Carlson wrote of The Thief of Two Worlds: Vance has skillfully crafted a Christian science fiction tale. Young people will be captivated by this story that begins with an alien enlisting the help of scientist-inventor Jon McGreggor to travel to 12th century Cambodia. There’s just one problem—his children are stowaways which adds an unexpected ingredient to the mission. I highly recommend this book which grapples with faith and fear along the way.

Vance has written for national and international magazines, and as a syndicated columnist and cartoonist in over 500 newspapers. His published novels include Forbidden Adventures, his Weird Horror Tales trilogy, a satiric novel titled Global Star, Young Nemo and the Black Knights, Snake: Nest of Vipers, and the suspense-thriller The Equation.Vance also briefly ghosted an internationally syndicated comic strip, wrote his own strip and several comic books. He is listed in the Who’s Who of American Comic Books and Comic Book Superstars.

This will be the second middle grade Christian novel released by James Kay Publishing. JKP has also published a number of novels and non-fiction books in soft-cover and as e-books including the recent 1930s detective novel, Bad News on the Doorstep, by mystery writer Ira Amos.
